Biography
Susanne Georgi was born in Denmark but has lived in Andorra for the last 13 years. She is part of the pop-duo ME & MY who achieved an international breakthrough with their song "Dub I Dub". It turned out to be one of the 90's inescapable hits and marked the start of a pop-music adventure for Susanne and her sister Pernille Georgi.
The album represented an entirely new style of Danish pop music and, as a result, Me & My's sales figures reached almost explosive figures with over 3 million albums sold worldwide and 6 album-releases.
In the spring of 1997 they were presented with two Gold Disc Awards for the year's best-selling international album and as best-selling foreign artists in Japan.
Susanne Georgi is now working on her first solo-album with a pop/rock style.
She spends most of her time in the studio writing and recording songs not only for herself but for other artists.

Biography
Armenia is represented this year by Anush and Inga Arshakyan, two talented singers from Yerevan.
Anush Arshakyan
Anush graduated from the piano department of the S. Aslamazyan music school.
From 1997 to 2001 she studied in the piano department of Arno Babajanyan Music College in Yerevan. From 2001 to 2005 she studied in jazz-vocal department of the Komitas State Consevatory in Yerevan.
In 1994 participated in the Zvonkie Golosa contest in Omsk and took the first prize.
At the same contest she took the Audience Choice Award.
On May 6th, 1999 she performed for the first time as a soloist accompanied by the State Philharmonic Orchestra and choir of Armenia.
Inga Arshakyan
Inga graduated from the S. Aslamazyan music school.
From 1998 to 2002 she studied in the violin department of Arno Babajanyan Music College in Yerevan.
Along with the studies she worked at the G. Atchemyan violinist ensemble.
From 2002 to 2005 she studied in jazz-vocal department of the Komitas State Consevatory in Yerevan.
As a duo
Inga and Anush sing and compose since their childhood. They perform jointly on the professional stage since 2000.
They acted together in the State Song Theatre of Armenia. Starting from 2003 they perform also independently. They performed both in Armenia and abroad, eg. in the USA, Teheran, London, Paris, Russia and Germany.
From 2008 Inga and Anush Arshakayans onwards, they are cooperating with SHARM Holding LLC.
On February 14, 2009, Anush and Inga Arshakyans won the Armenian national final for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest.

Biography
Referring to Malena Ernman as Sweden’s most unusual opera star would hardly be an exaggeration. The mezzo-soprano from Sandviken - north Sweden - comfortably goes from the high culture opera houses of Vienna and Paris to comedy sketches at award shows without regard to the reactions from the sometimes-conservative world of opera.
"People also react when they hear me ”speaking normally”. I guess it can come as a surprise, since an opera singer can sound like a pompous actor just by ordering a regular cup of coffee."
About the high culture aspect of opera, Malena says:
"I think we have worked very hard within the opera world to become a part of the popular music scene, but we can’t!!! Only the audience can make opera popular music. Hopefully La Voix can play a small part in making that happen."
Despite her young age, Malena has paid her dues and gained a lot of experience within her field. A Wikipedia search reveals the following:
Malena Ernman, (full name: Sara Magdalena Ernman) born November 4th 1970 in Uppsala, Sweden is a Swedish opera singer (mezzo-soprano). She is the daughter of Lars Ernman and Eva Ernman. Married to actor Svante Thunberg.
Malena Ernman from the town of Sandviken is a member of the Royal Academy of Music and one of the most sought-after opera singers in the world. She has quickly gained worldwide fame within her genre and is considered by many to be a world-class mezzo-soprano singer. She was educated at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm, the Music Conservatory in Orléans, France and at the school of the Royal Swedish Opera.
Malena Ernmans breakthrough performance came in 1998, when she did a spectacular performance as Kaja in Sven-David Sandströms show, Staden.
Malena Ernman has appeared as Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro (Staatsoper Berlin/Daniel Barenboim), Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia by Rossini (Staatsoper Berlin) and in the title role of Carmen (Royal Opera Stockholm). She was also seen in the title role of Boesmans’ Julie at la Monnaie, Wiener Festwochen and in Aix-en-Provence. She also played the role of Zerlina in Don Giovanni (Staatsoper Berlin/Barenboim).
Her major international breakthrough came with her performance in Aggrippina (Brussels, Paris Rene Jacobs) 1999. She has performed at the Glyndebourne Festival as Nancy in Albert Herring (summer of 2002) and Orlovsky in Die Fledermaus (summer of 2003).
The spring of 2006 included the title role of Dido and Aeneas in Vienna and Annio in La Clemenza di Tito at the Salzburg Festspiele (N. Harnoncourt).
In 2007 she played Sesto in Giulio Cesare with René Jacobs in Vienna, Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro (Daniel Harding Aix en Pce) and Nerone in The Coronation of Poppea,
Amsterdam.
In 2009, Malena will be starring in Cinderella at the Royal Swedish Opera and in Frankfurt she will do the title role of Dido in Dido and Aeneas (Paris Wien Amsterdam William Christie).
She is also a much sought-after concert singer and has performed in Tokyo, Rome, Madrid, Paris, London and Los Angeles with conductors like Esa Pekka Salonen, Herbert Blomstedt, Sir Simon Rattle, Daniel Barenboim and Phillip Herreweghe.
Malena´s discography includes the solo albums Cabaret Songs (BIS), My Love (BIS), Songs in Season (Nytorp Musik) and Müllers Nachtgesänge (Col legno).
Malena Erman has appeared on Swedish television on many occasions, such as the much talked about No Strings with Martin Fröst. (SVT 2005.)
On March 14th 2009, Malena won Melodifestivalen in Stockholm, and will go on to represent Sweden in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. Malena explains how the idea came about:
"Fredrik Kempe, who wrote the song, is an old friend of mine. We worked together at the Opera in Stockholm with Staden by Sven David Sandström, ten years ago. Then Fredrik called me last summer and said he had a song that would suit me. It sounded like a fun idea, but of course I thought about it for a long time. We recorded a demo during the autumn, and that was it!"
Malena looks at her participation in the Eurovision Song Contest as a “fun thing to try”:
"I always watch the Eurovision Song Contest on the web. The whole family will watch together in front of the computer, in whatever european city we happen to be in. It´s like being back in Sweden for a few hours, and that’s a great feeling!"
"I love the Eurovision Song Contest. Together with the World Cup in football and the Olympics, I think it’s the best entertainment on TV."
"But just two days after the Swedish competition I will be back on the opera stage, this time in Frankfurt. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to try so many different genres of music, everything from opera to jazz and ballads, and now the the Eurovision Song Contest."
Discussing the biggest difference between opera and the Eurovision Song Contest, Malena says:
"In the opera I´m on stage for three hours, singing without a microphone. In the Eurovision Song Contest, I´m on stage for three minutes, singing with a microphone."

Biography
Petr Elfimov was born into a family of musicians on February 15, 1980, in the city of Mogilev, Republic of Belarus. Petr’s father, Petr Elfimov Senior, is a professional musician, a bass in a church choir. His mother, Jeanette Elfimov, is a conductor of a superb choir which won numerous first prizes at international contests. In 2007 she was ruled the best conductor out of 50 participants at an international festival in Poland.
Petr’s stage debut took place when he was six. At fourteen, he became the solo singer of a vocal band called Double W. In 1999 he created the Egoist band, where he was the solo singer and the song-writer. He wrote his first song, If You Only Knew, when he was eighteen. In 2004 he won the Grand Prix at the International Popular Song Contest Vitebsk 2004 within the framework of the International Arts Festival Vitebsk Slavic Bazaar. Then there were triumphs in Estonia, Poland, Serbia.
In 1998 Petr finished the Mogilev Music and Choreography Lyceum. In 2005 he graduated from the Belarus State Music Academy, where he majored in Academic Singing. Since 2007 Petr has been teaching Popular Signing at the Modern Knowledge Institute named after A. M. Shirokov. Currently he is doing a master course at the Belarus State Music Academy, and is hoping to get his master degree this June.
Petr tried his hand at various creative pursuits. In 1999-2003 he was the leading singer in a number of KVN (Merry and Inventive People Club) panel game teams, including the teams of the Belarus State University and the People’s Friendship University of Russia. Petr holds the title of the absolute champion of the International KVN Union.
He has always tried to absorb as much beautiful professional music as possible (classical, jazz, blues, soul, heavy metal) which, no doubt, influenced his creative philosophy – it has "trace elements” of such widely popular music genres as heavy rock and romance.
When he was eleven, Petr heard the famous Queen for the first time, and forever fell in love with rock music with its truthfulness, extraordinariness, sincerity and melodism. He was overwhelmed by the unlikely harmony between the harsh instrumental sound and the incredible vocal polyphony. Later, at fourteen, he turned to the roots of rock music and revealed for himself a constellation of brilliant performers, including The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, and Bryan Adams. His admiration with the vocal capabilities of Ian Gillan inspired a spiritual journey into the creative heritage of Andrew Lloyd Webber. Even today Petr cherishes the hope to perform the part of Jesus in the famous rock opera Jesus Christ Super Star. Petr has given more than 50 solo concerts in Belarus. He also extensively tours foreign countries. To date, he has made two solo albums: I Want (2005) and The Bells (2007). Now Petr is working on a new album, Glance Of Love, which will include the track Eyes That Never Lie in the English and Russian languages.
Petr’s concert repertoire also includes such famous compositions as Child In Time (Deep Purple), several songs by the famous Polish composer and singer Czesław Niemen, etc.
Petr is a romantic. His Zodiac sign is Aquarius, and Aquarians are well-known to live on a rainbow!

Biography
Patrick Ouchène is Copycat!
His great passion for fifties rock ’n’ roll naturally led him to become a musician but he has always remained loyal to rockabilly. As guitarist and singer, he is not content with copying or recreating the great classics of the era, Patrick also writes and composes his own songs.
In the 1980s, he produced two LPs, an EP and a number of singles. On his first album, he sang with Dani Klein from Vaya Con Dios.
His greatest commercial success was Je Suis Swing with the group The Dominos, which entered the French Top 10 in 1991. With this hit, the Dominos took part in major French entertainment programms presented by Michel Drucker, Jean-Pierre Foucault and Pascal Sevran, with the great honour of singing C’est à Paris in a duet with Charles Aznavour.
Hundreds of live appearances followed in clubs and festivals where The Dominos shared the stage with big names such as Johnny Clegg, the Blues Brothers Band, Wynton Marsalis, Michel Legrand, Claude Nougaro, Maurane, Arno and the famous legend of the blues, Louisiana Red.
More recently, Patrick Ouchène produced six full CDs that provide an explosive cocktail of rockabilly straight out of the fifties and played by rock ’n’ roll aficionados and authentic music clubs.
Managing his musical projects head-on, such as The Million Dollars Sunrise (a project that reproduced the Sun Sound of 1955) or Runnin’ Wild (a group of modern, non-retro rockabilly), he is also acknowledged as a studio musician for his mastery of the rockabilly guitar.

Biography
In just three years, Gipsy.cz has become one of the most famous Czech music representatives in the world and played at prestigious festivals and clubs in 15 countries around the world, from Glastonbury to Ljubljana, from Lisbon through Kiev to Soul.
The leader of the band is the Romani rapper, musician and singer Radoslav “Gipsy“ Banga who has been performing since the age of 13; Vojta Lavička, co-author of the project Gipsy.cz plays the violin and sings. The band is famous for its energetic live performances spiced with a good dose of distinct humor and self-irony.
The 2006 Anděl Award in the Discovery of the Year category, the Chart Jumper of the Year in the 2008 Český slavík contest (it jumped from the 89th place to the 10th place), the Best Band of the Year award (2007) of the music magazine Filter, many live performances at the biggest Czech festivals, concerts and clubs, the Golden Album for the sales of the first album Romano Hip Hop and the success of the second album Reprezent among the fans and audience in the Czech Republic and aboard show the success of the band in the Czech Republic. In addition to many television performances, the band also performed twice in the national rounds of Eurosong in 2007 a 2008.
Gipsy.cz significantly helped the mutual understanding and better communication between the minorities and the majority society. In 2007 Radoslav Banga became the national ambassador of the European Year of Equal Opportunities for All.
The great position of the band on the international scene is also proven by its participation at the legendary festival in Glastonbury, Great Britain, where it performed as the first Czech interpret ever. People saw Gipsy.cz in the Netherlands - at the Dunya Festival in Rotterdam, the Mundial Festival in Tilburg and in the legendary Paradiso Hall in Amsterdam. The band also performed at the Couleur Café Festival in Brussels, at the Bestival on the Isle of Wight, Great Britain, the Pulse Festival in London and the Sziget Festival in Budapest. The unexpectedly enthusiastic reception brought the band twice to the World Music Festival in Ulsan, South Korea.
Czech and foreign reviewers highly praised both albums. The European journey of the most recent album Reprezent (released by Indies Scope Records in co-production with Mars Promotion and Colours Promotion) started with the biggest Czech success – the 3rd place in World Music Charts Europe (WMCE) in October 2008. For the entire year of 2008, Reprezent took the overall 21st place in WMCE out of 916 nominated albums in 2008. The band’s albums are being also successfully sold in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, Great Britain, Japan, Italy, Spain, Portugal, South Korea, etc. The songs from both albums are in many compilations dedicated to world music as well as Romani and modern music fusions.
The latest issue of the prestigious British magazine Songlines gave Reprezent all five stars, referring to it as Top of The World, and included the song Benga Beating in its sampler also called Benga Beating.
The band’s video clips were shown on MTV, on Nat Geo Music Fox Channel in Italy or on LinkTV in the USA. The songs of Gipsy.cz have been played by approximately 200 radio stations around the world, and their videos on YouTube viewed by approximately two million people represent one of the most successful Czech acquisitions in this modern medium.

Biography
Andrea Demirovic was born on 17th June, 1985. in Podgorica, Montenegro.
She graduated from the Music School in Bar (piano). As a fifteen-year-old girl she moved to Kotor to finish Music High School (Department-Solo Singing). Now, Andrea is a student of the Music Academy in Cetinje, Department of Music Pedagogy.
Her first public appearance was in 2002 at the festival Suncane Skale in Herceg-Novi, which was the turning point in her professional career. Many more festival appearances followed, in her country and abroad (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia). A few months latter, she made an appearance at the Suncane Skale festival again, performing her hits Sta Ce Mi Dani and Planina, showing how much she has grown as an artist.
Her first album, ANDREA, was published in 2006, after two years of preparation.
The songs and lyrics are the work of famous Croatian singer/writer/composer Vesna Pisarovic, but on the album is also one song made personally by Andrea. The CD was published by the biggest publishers in Serbia - City Records and Limark. Shortly after the CD was realised, Andrea's producers from Limark Company presented her to agents of the British company Vord, and these showed a lot of interest in her.
Their first project was the offer to make a duet song with Italian singer Massimo Bertacci. Right after that, the successful author team, Mr. Rafael Artesero and Mr. Jose Juan Santana Rodriguez from Spain showed an interest to work with Andrea as well. Three songs were recorded: The Queen Of The Night, And Now and Ley Ley Le, all to appear on Andrea's next CD.
