Biography

Armenia is represented this year by Anush and Inga Arshakyan, two talented singers from Yerevan.


Anush Arshakyan

Anush graduated from the piano department of the S. Aslamazyan music school.

From 1997 to 2001 she studied in the piano department of Arno Babajanyan Music College in Yerevan. From 2001 to 2005 she studied in jazz-vocal department of the Komitas State Consevatory in Yerevan.

In 1994 participated in the Zvonkie Golosa contest in Omsk and took the first prize.

At the same contest she took the Audience Choice Award.

On May 6th, 1999 she performed for the first time as a soloist accompanied by the State Philharmonic Orchestra and choir of Armenia.


Inga Arshakyan


Inga graduated from the S. Aslamazyan music school.

From 1998 to 2002 she studied in the violin department of Arno Babajanyan Music College in Yerevan.

Along with the studies she worked at the G. Atchemyan violinist ensemble.

From 2002 to 2005 she studied in jazz-vocal department of the Komitas State Consevatory in Yerevan.


As a duo


Inga and Anush sing and compose since their childhood. They perform jointly on the professional stage since 2000.

They acted together in the State Song Theatre of Armenia. Starting from 2003 they perform also independently. They performed both in Armenia and abroad, eg. in the USA, Teheran, London, Paris, Russia and Germany.

From 2008 Inga and Anush Arshakayans onwards, they are cooperating with SHARM Holding LLC.

On February 14, 2009, Anush and Inga Arshakyans won the Armenian national final for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest.

Γιατί να έγραψε άραγε αυτό το τραγούδι ο πρόεδρος του Ισραήλ?
Πράγματι ο Σιμόν Πέρες έκανε τους στίχους για το "Time to pray".
Για τι πράγμα άραγε θάθελε να προσευχηθεί?
Το πρώτο που μου έρχεται κατά νου είναι για τους αδικοχαμένους αμάχους γυναίκες και παιδιά της Γάζας.

Στο φετινό εθνικό τελικό της Σερβίας (BEOVIZIJA 2009) για την επιλογή του τραγουδιού που θα εκπροσωπήσει τη Σερβία στη Eurovision 2009, μια ιδιαίτερη παρουσία ήταν αυτή των Sirusho , Jelena και Boaz στο "Time To Pray".
Τρεις πρώην συναγωνιστές της Eurovision τργούδησαν ένα κοινό τραγούδι σε τρεις γλώσσες, Αρμένικα Εβραίικα και Σέρβικα.
Το τραγούδι "Time to pray" παρουσιάστηκε για πρώτη φορά και είναι σε στίχους του Προέδρου του Ισράηλ, Σιμόν Πέρες και μουσική των Boaz Mauda καιTomer Biran.
Συγκίνησαν το κοινό και καταχειροκροτήθηκαν.

Α wonderful thing to see three former ESC competitors singing together a year later.
Sirusho, Jelena and Boaz - Time To Pray .
The song is stunning, and it is so beautiful to hear Armenian, Hebrew and Serbian all in one song.
In the Serbian National final for selecting the song for ESC2009, (BEOVIZIJA 2009) March 8, 2009.
The lyrics of this song are written by the president of Israel Shimon Peres.
Yes it is true Shimon Peres wrote "time to pray"
Why Peres would want to pray? The first I could imagine, is that Peres wants to pray for the lost souls of the innocent people, women and children of Gaza.

Tonight at Beovizija, Jelena Tomašević (Serbia ESC 2008), Sirusho (Armenia ESC 2008) and Boaz Mauda (Israel ESC 2008) performed, for the first time, Time to pray, a song written by Boaz Mauda, based on words written by Israeli president Shimon Peres, and composed by Boaz Mauda and Tomer Biran.
