Biography
The band, which at the very beginning of its existence recorded a splendid success regardless of an unusual situation such as looking for the group singer in daily newspaper advertisements, was destined to come to life again and, after years of inactivity, soar up into the sky of popular music trends. History of the Sarajevo pop-rock group Regina, whose members, as far back as 1990 “decided” to get seriously involved in music life, recorded a very unhappy situation of not having a proper vocalist, at that time!
After an unsuccessful audition, to which some “singers” even brought somebody else’s recordings, Davor Ebner appeared quite unexpectedly. At that time he was the vocalist in the Sarajevo group Konvoj (Convoy). After three months Ebner finally yielded to pressing and persuasion of Aleksandar Čovic, the front-man of the group Regina. An agreement was reached and first recordings done.
With a recognizable sound of the Sarajevo pop-rock school, precisely adjusted to various generations, teenagers as well as admirers of a “harder” sound, the songs from Regina’s first album easily found their way to listeners. New stars were born. Songs Sleep! ,Do Not Ask Me and The Way She Was, marked the first album, released in 1990, under the name "Regina".
Their second album, named Love Is Not For Us, released in 1991, crossed the borders of Bosnia & Herzegovina, achieving success all over former Yugoslavia. The war circumstances separated the band members and the band ceased their work.
The new millennium marked the beginning of separate careers for Aleksandar Covic, under the name Aco Reginal and for Davor Ebner with the group Gruntibugli , but they were overshadowed by the success of the former Regina. These independent careers ended in 2004 when, after meeting in Belgrade and only one discourse, they agreed to restore Regina in its former cast: Aleksandar Čović, Davor Ebner, Bojan Milićević and Denis Čabrić. After ten month preparations the group Regina, in its former shape, recorded their new, come-back album – I Can Do It All and once again captured the public in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia…
The success of this album was confirmed in a great concert tour all over Bosnia & Herzegovina. The crown of their career was their performance as a supporting act for the Rolling Stones at their concert in Budva, in July 2007.
In January 2009 Regina was chosen to represent Bosnia and Herzegovina at the 54th Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow, with the song Bistra Voda.

Regina, the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest representatives from Bosnia & Herzegovina have released the official preview video of their entry Bistra voda. Bosnia & Herzegovina will be... competing at number 18 in the first semi final to be held in Moscow on the 12th of May.
Regina are a well known band in Bosnia Herzegovina and in the neighbouring Balkan countries. The boyband will be representing Bosnia Herzegovina with the song Bistra voda at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow. Bosnia Herzegovina debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993 with Fazla. Regina will be bidding to bring Bosnia Herzegovina its first victory next May.

Οι Regina, οι εκπρόσωποι της Βοσνίας Ερζεγοβίνης στο 54ο διαγωνισμό της Eurovision που θα γίνει φέτος στη Μόσχα, ετοίμασαν και δημοσιοποίησαν το επίσημο βίντεο του τραγουδιού τους που έχει τίτλο Bistra voda. Η Βοσνία Ερζεγοβίνη λαμβάνει μέρος στον πρώτο ημιτελικό που θα λάβει χώρα στις 12 Μαίου 2009 στη 18η θέση εμφάνισης που είναι και η τελευταία για τον ημιτελικό αυτό.

ΒΙΟΓΡΑΦΙΑ:Το συγκρότημα σχηματίστηκε στο Sarajevo το 1990 όταν τα 3 μέλη του, Aco, Bojan και Denis δοκιμάζαν την τύχη τους σ'ενα γκαράζ! Οι τρεις τους έψαχναν ένα τέταρτο μέλος για το συγκρότημά για τη θέση του βασικού τραγουδιστή. Το μέλος αυτό βρέθηκε στο πρόσωπο του Davor Ebner και έτσι το συγκρότημα πήρε σάρκα και οστά κάτω από το όνομα "Regina". Το πρώτο τους album κυκλοφόρησε την ίδια χρονιά με το σχηματισμό τους σαν συγκρότημα με τραγούδια του Aleksandar Cabric. Ο Cabric εμπνεύστηκε τα τραγούδια
από τη μουσική των U2 και όπως ήταν αναμενόμενο το album γνώρισε μεγάλη επιτυχία. Τραγούδια όπως "Spavaj", "Ne pitaj me" και "Kao nekada ona" έγιναν αγαπημένα hits της χρονιάς σε όλες τις χώρες της πρώην Γιουγκοσλαβίας ενώ οι Regina καθιερώθηκαν σαν ένα από τα πιο αγαπητά βαλκανικά συγκροτήματα!
Ακολούθησαν συναυλίες σε Βοσνία-Ερζεγοβίνη και άλλες βαλκανικές χώρες μετά από παρότρυνση των fans τους. Το 1992 το συγκρότημα κυκλοφόρησε το δεύτερο album του με τίτλο "Ljuban nije za nas". Λίγους μήνες αργότερα ακολούθησε ο εμφύλιος πόλεμος και έτσι το συγκρότημα διαλύθηκε. Ωστόσο καινούργια μέλη αντικατέστησαν τα παλιά και οι Regina συνέχισαν τη πορεία τους στο τραγούδι με βασικό μέλος τον Aco.
Το συγκρότημα κυκλοφόρησε αρκετά albums με μεγάλη επιτυχία όμως το 1999 διαλύθηκε ξανά. Ο Aco και το πρώην μέλος Davor, ακολούθησαν solo καριέρες χωρίς όμως να έχουν την ίδια επιτυχία που είχαν σαν μέλη του συγκροτήματος. Τα αρχικά μέλη ξαναενώθηκαν το 2006 και έτσι οι Regina πήραν πάλι την αρχική τους μορφή με την αγάπη του κόσμου να τους χαρίζει πολλά βραβεία σε διάφορα μουσικά φεστιβάλ. Το 2009
το κρατικό κανάλι της χώρας (BHRT) ανακοίνωσε ότι οι Regina θα εκπροσωπήσουν τη χώρα στη Eurovision 2009 με το τραγούδι "Bistra Voda".
